Rhamnus davurica is a species of flowering plant in the buckthorn family, known by the common name Dahurian buckthorn. It is native to China, Korea, Mongolia, eastern Siberia and Japan. It is found in North America as an introduced species. This plant is similar to common buckthorn, but the stems are more vigorous and the leaves are longer. In its native range it can grow up to 10 metres tall. It can also grow up to 9 metres in cultivation. The opposite leaves are up to 13 cm long and 6 cm wide in the native area, but are usually smaller where it is introduced. The male flowers are just under a centimetre long, and the female flowers are slightly smaller. The fruit is a drupe containing two seeds. At night, there is a weak white glow, mostly coming from the stems of the plant, but some manage to spill into it's leaves. The berries, however, are not affected by the minerals.
